Programme for families
For an equal start in life.
Early education plays a crucial role in preventing poverty. Our programme supports parents of children up to the age of six living in fragile family situations. We provide parents with advice about parenting issues and teach them how to promote learning through play at home. In the long-term, we want to help as many Swiss family centres as possible to establish professional services for early childhood education.
The Marie Meierhofer Institut für das Kind (MMI) (Marie Meierhofer Institute for Children) is a centre of excellence for early childhood development. It has been committed to ensuring that children get what they need to grow up healthy, both inside and outside the family, for over 60 years.
What children need from their parents
All of our programmes are based on the nurturing care framework. This comprehensive framework covers everything from good health, adequate nutrition, safety and security to responsive caregiving and opportunities for early learning.
